The mission of the Banking and Insurance is to regulate the banking, insurance and real estate industries in a professional and timely manner that protects and educates consumers and promotes the growth, financial stability and efficiency of those industries.

             Teaching methods at our department include lectures, case studies, seminars, business games, simulation exercises, mini projects, unstructured group work, peer learning and field visits in the name of In-plant Training and Industrial Visits.

              The Department has linkages with banks, which are actively involved in academic and research activities. Local banks recognize the Banking courses by giving priority in recruitment and promotion to our students.

              We offer undergraduate degrees in both accounting and finance leading to careers in professional Banking and Insurance and to many roles in business. Combined degrees with many other subjects take full advantage of Mumbai University’s flexible modular degree structure.
